After selecting the folder, click the “Unzip” button to continue. The files will then be unzipped. Once this is complete, navigate to that folder using your Windows Explorer (some zipping programs will automatically open the folder on your screen).

Step 4: RIGHT click with your mouse on the “Run Me” file, similar to that circled in the below figure:

You may see a message on your screen that says “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”. Select “Yes” to this message.

Step 5: You will see a command prompt, similar to that in the figure below, appear on your screen.

After about two minutes, click on the Windows Start Menu on your computer.

Step 6: Launch the FortiClient application by clicking on it in this start menu. You may see a message on your screen that says “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”. Select “Yes” to this message. You'll be greeted by a link in the center that say's "Configure VPN".

After about two minutes, click on the Windows Start Menu on your computer.

This will be provided to you by the Provide Help Desk.

Below is an example of how it would be configured:

Step 8: Once done, select "Apply" and "Close". This will bring you to the main VPN screen for login, similar to that in the figure below.

NOTE: If you have access to multiple servers, you can configure the client software to access each server independently and you will select which connection you want to use from the drop down circled in the above figure. To setup the additional connection, simply click on the  button on the FortiClient Console and select “Add New Connection”. Then, follow steps 8 and 9 again.

Step 9:

This will connect you to the VPN. The FortiClient Console will minimize and will appear in your system tray in the lower right hand corner of your window (similar to that in the figure below).

To open the FortiClient Console later, simply click on that icon in your system try and select “Open FortiClient Console”. You can also disconnect by simply selecting “Disconnect”.
