Groupware Technologies, Inc is pleased to announce the availability of Release 5.10.10012.029 of the Provide Enterprise® software. Outlined below are the steps for upgrading to this release or completing a new installation of the software.

Note 1: You must have administrative rights to install software on your local machine. If you are unsure if you have these permissions, contact your local IT staff.

Note 2: If you want or need to install Provide Enterprise on a number of computers, contact our Help Desk for assistance in doing so with remote desktop administration tools.

 

Outlined below are the steps to follow to complete the installation of the latest version of the Provide Enterprise software on your PC

Before you start

  1. Uninstall any older version of Provide Enterprise from your PC.

    • NOTE:  Please write down your User Name, Server, and Database before Un-Installing the old version of the PE software!

  2. Uninstall SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .Net Framework 4 (32 and 64 bit versions if you have either or both installed)

Due to changes to how the developer of Crystal Reports allows for the distribution of the Crystal Reports Report engine, it will temporarily (until a newer release of the Provide Enterprise software) not be installed as part of the Provide Enterprise installation, It must be installed separately prior to the installation of the Provide Enterprise Client software.

Step One: Install Crystal Reports Run Time:

  • Download the Crystal Reports Run Time Engine
  • Click to Save
  • In the Save as dialog box, click Desktop, and click Save.
  • Once the download has completed, double-click on the icon.
  • When prompted to run setup after the files have finished extracting, click yes.
  • Click next or finish through the remainder of the dialog boxes.

Step Two: Install Provide Enterprise Client Software and Required Components:

  • Download the PE Client Software
  • Click to Save
  • In the Save as dialog box, click Desktop, and click Save.
  • If prompted to overwrite file, click Yes.
  • Once the download has completed, double-click on the ProvideEnterprise51010012029X86.exe (with a Provide Enterprise icon)
  • The install will download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0, and a Microsoft OLE DB Driver if required.
  • Click “Next” and/or “Yes” or “Finish” for each prompt to finish installation.
